Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson Plan Holiday Album
January 19, 2008 by Sarah
Despite Amy Winehouse’s personal (and very public) issues, she’s proving she’s still all about the music. She’s teaming up with producer Mark Ronson to record a holiday album featuring Hanukkah and Christmas music. In an interview with Rolling Stone Ronson, said the album will feature Christmas music on one side and Hanukkah music on the other.
"We’re talking about making a holiday record, with Christmas songs on one side and Hanukkah songs on the other. She’s got songs called ‘Kosher Kisses’ and ‘Alone Under The Mistletoe.’She was kind of messing around, but I was like, ‘You have all these amazing records to play for Christmas, like Motown and Carla Thomas and the Charlie Brown Christmas, and unfortunately, us Jews have nothing that cool to listen to. So we should do something.
"She’s writing songs and we talked about getting a studio. I have to finish a few other things first, but I imagine we’ll go into the studio this year."
It sounds like something to look forward to for sure. I’d love to hear Amy’s interpretation of some old classics along with a bit of something new. If done right, this could be the album of the year.
Can you tell I’m an Amy Winehouse fan?
