Before they had successful solo careers Joan Jett and Lita Ford joined forces with Cherie Curry, Sandy West, and others to form the all girl teen metal band, The Runaways. Here they are in Japan in 1977.

    That’s great! I’ve actually been listening to a version with Joan Jett and L7. I found it via the Mozilla-based “client” Songbird and added it to my daily playlist.

    Wow, I never knew Lita Ford and Cherie Curry were Runaways. Jett actually just played a big casino northwest of Toronto last weekend, but my brother and I couldn’t get tickets.

    I loved Joan Jett as a teen – I thought she was so badass and so cool. I wasn’t as big a Lita Ford fan however. I never found her all that talented as a singer.
