Britney Spears has hardly taken a breath! After releasing her very successful album, Circus, Britney will be releasing her greatest hits album in November. The album is called The Singles Collection and will be released on November 24th.
Britney has also just finished embarking on her Circus tour which will start up again in December when she makes her way over to Australia. She’s been so busy! And now, her newest song, “3” was released this morning on the Z100 radio show.

Britney Spears “You Oughta Know” Cover
It seems as though Britney Spears has started covering the Alanis Morrisette hit “You Oughta Know” on her Circus tour. I saw this video of her doing it at a show in Greensboro, NC over the weekend and I think she starts it and ends it relatively well but the middle was a little strange.
Here’s the thing – I’m happy to see her singing live at all. She lip syncs her own songs on the tour (and obviously couldn’t get away with that with someone else’s song) so I’m glad her audience is getting some form of live vocals. …read more
Britney Spears & Russell Brand’s Funny VMA Promo
August 26, 2009 by Jeanne
I love when celebrities can poke fun at themselves and this promotional spot for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards cracked me up a bit. It features Britney Spears (looking toned and as beautiful as ever in a bikini!) standing by the poolside mulling over the fact that Russell Brand has been invited to return as the show’s host.
Meanwhile, Russell is sitting thinking about the fact that Britney might attend the awards this year and he worries that some of the jokes he made about her at the 2008 VMAs might have offended her. After a bit more of hearing …read more
Britney Spears “Top Ten” on Letterman – Smart or Sad?
August 21, 2009 by Jeanne
Britney Spears has been on a comeback of epic proportions since her album Circus debuted and she hit the tour circuit. I’ve been so impressed with her progress and the support she’s gotten from her family and it really warms my heart to see her running around with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. She has cleaned up her act, I haven’t spotted a single picture of her walking into a gas station bathroom with no shoes on and she’s gotten back in shape.
Earlier this week, she agreed to do the “Top Ten” list on The Late Show With …read more
Women In Music Dominate 2009 VMA Nominations
August 4, 2009 by Jeanne
This year’s VMA nominations are a testament to how powerful women have become in the music industry. Beyoncé and Lady Gaga lead the pack with 9 nods but Britney Spears isn’t far behind with seven nominations. I’m happy for everyone but I’m ecstatic for Britney.
Just two years ago, she had that disastrous “Gimme More” performance at the VMAs and I actually worried that she might not live to see the next year. Now she’s back on top and she’s in good company. Here are the relevant nominations (it’s hilarious that Rihanna managed to sneak into the “Best Male Video” …read more
Britney Spears is a “Dirty Girl”
July 31, 2009 by Jeanne
If you follow producer/remixer, Russ Castella, on Twitter, you might have noticed these updates:
“Working on the new britney track…but shhhh it’s supposed to be a secret”
“The new britney track is called ‘Dirty Girl’ and its gonna be realllllyyyyy dirty.”
Apparently, Britney Spears will be releasing a new track called “Dirty Girl.” My immediate thought was, does Britney really need to get more dirty? My second thought was, “I hope this doesn’t bring back those comparisons to Christina Aguilera” (who famously released a song called “Dirrty” from her Stripped album back in 2002).
I don’t know if this track will be included on …read more
She Plays Music’s Hot Tracks for Summer 2009
June 26, 2009 by Jeanne
Women in music are proving that they are a force to be reckoned with this year and if you’re looking at creating a playlist that is fueled by female artists, I’d like to share some of my picks. I know that not all of these are all-girl bands but a strong female lead singer makes all the difference!
The Black Eyed Peas are enjoying a lot of success right now and, at the time of this writing, their two most recent singles “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” are sitting on the #1 and #2 spots on Billboard’s Hot …read more

Today, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, died at the age of 50 after suffering from cardiac arrest. The cause of death is still unknown but celebrities have been reacting to the horrible news along with Jackson’s fans around the world.
Many of the most popular women in music have expressed their shock and sadness to the news through statements and Twitter messages.
Madonna really summed up how a lot of people have been feeling. "I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will …read more
Britney Spears Embarking on First Australian Tour
June 10, 2009 by Jeanne
Britney Spears has been riding high on her very successful “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour and, right after confirming that she will be traveling through North America one more time, Billboard is reporting that the singer will be heading to Australia for the firs time in her career. “I’ve wanted to tour Australia for quite some time and now it’s finally happening,” Spears said.
So far, six dates have been announced starting with a performance at Perth’s Burswood Dome on November 6, 2009 and ending on November 24, 2009 at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre. She has also planned stops at Melbourne’s …read more
Singled Out: Britney Spears “Circus”
December 11, 2008 by Kimberlee Morrison
I know I dissed Brit’s last single. It hurt me to do it, but it was necessary. I’ve been holding my tongue while every top 40 radio station played the crap out of “Womanizer,” (ok so not really) keeping my fingers crossed that the next single would be better.
It is my distinct pleasure to say that Britney Spears is on the right track with “Circus,” an infectiously sultry pop number, absolutely indicative of Brit’s return to the top of the charts. “Womanizer” may have been more upbeat, but “Circus” is far and away a better representation of the Spears brand. …read more
