Courtney Love Attacks Madonna
Oh this is going to be good. Courtney Love is attacking Madonna, calling her music and career a joke. In fact, on her blog she calls herself “bionic” and in comparison calls Madonna “weak.”
“Madonna is a great businesswoman but come on, she’s weak as an artist and we all know it. I like Madge but as a relevant musician it’s a joke,” Courtney said.
“She’s singing from such a calculating, thought-out place all the time. It’s never from her gut or heart of intuition, so maybe it sounds great and slick and you can hum it.
“Hard work and major discipline doesn’t equal great art and all of those are great things - I covet them. I have great discipline and I do work like a bionic thing,” Love concluded.
You know, I might call Courtney Love a lot of things, but bionic? Relevant? An artists? No. I’m not a huge Madonna fan, but I do recognize talent, and Madge does have it. I also believe Madonna worked damn hard to get where she is today and didn’t spend most of her time riding the coattails of her dead husband. I love seeing a former junky call someone else “weak”, don’t you?
Madge is so gonna kick her ass.

Madonna is so far and and ahead of all of her contemporaries that for any one of them to criticize her is a joke. As you said, Madonna is not riding on the fame of a dead husband. Unlike Whitney Houston, Madonna didn’t self-destruct on booze and drugs. Unlike Janet Jackson, Madonna continue to expand her music in new directions (Ms. Jackson, I may add, rides on the coat tail of a famous brother and is apparently unable to move past her Rhythm Nation image). Unlike Mariah Carey and Britney Spears Madonna didn’t have such an out of control private life that she have a pathetic public meltdown.
Instead of criticizing and attacking her, perhaps Love can learn something from her.

Courtney Love is the queen of rock, the queen of me and the queen of you! Courtney Love is REAL. Sure there are other great female artists out there, but sized up against Courtney they can all just go fuck themselves!
