Dakota Fanning & Kristen Stewart Star in New Movie

I’m a really big fan of the 1970’s rock band, The Runaways, if you’re reading this blog you likely are as well. If you’re not up on these chicks then I strongly suggest you run out and  nab their first self titled album, it’s essential rock and roll listening. The band is known for their brief but tempestuous moment in the spotlight, as well as launching the careers of rock legends Joan Jett, Lita Ford, and Cherie Currie.

Singer Cherie Currie wrote a book in the late 80’s tilted Neon Angel documenting the success, debauchery and drug addition of her career with the band. There were two films inspired by the The Runaways: Desperate Teenage Lovedolls, a low budget underground cult classic released in 1984, and Edgeplay: A Film About The Runaways. Now there is soon to be a third. New Moon cast members Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are currently working on a film called The Runaways. Yet another movie based on the wild and seductive story of the band’s career from 1975 to 1979.
