Guilty Music Pleasures: Katy Perry “I Kissed a Girl”

I have to admit that certain types of pop music is a guilty pleasure for me. I like to think I have sophisticated music tastes, but sometimes I just like music that is fun and cheeky with a rhythm I can dance to.
When I heard Katy Perry’s song “I Kissed a Girl,” I tried to resist the temptation to like it. Her voice is pretty good, albiet generic and I knew it was going to be one of those breakout hits, in constant rotation on every pop radio station. On top of that, the song definitely capitalizes on the girl-on-girl male fantasy…Don’t even get me started.
Well, I think I’ve been won over. Even if she never has another hit song, Katy Perry will always have “I Kissed a Girl.”
Here she is performing her hit song last night on So You Think You Can Dance.
