Madonna/Live Nation Deal worth $120 Million over Ten Years

Nice work if you can get it.

Madonna inked a deal with Live Nation giving them a stake of her albums, merchandise films and other music related projects. In return, they’ll pay out $120 million over the next ten years. Whoa. That is an obscene amount of money, and it’s not like Madonna needs the coin. I think some people are just greedy. I mean, doesn’t it get to the point where you have more money than you and your kids will ever know what to do with? And when does it stop being about the music and start being about the money, because that’s what it looks like is happening here. Anyway, I digress…

Madonna claims to be attracted to the deal because of recent trends:

“The paradigm in the music business has shifted and as an artist and a business woman, I have to move with that shift,” Madonna said. “For the first time in my career, the way that my music can reach my fans is unlimited. I’ve never wanted to think in a limited way and with this new partnership, the possibilities are endless.”

Whatever.
