Mary J. Blige Feat. Drake “The One”

Uh oh!  Mary J. Blige has been taken over by autotune!  I know, I know.  It’s all the rage right now but I’m starting to really get tired of hearing it, especially when it’s not necessary. 

On her new single, “The One” which became available for download on Amazon on July 21, 2009.  The track is from her upcoming album which is slated for a November 2009 release.  

Canadian rapper, Drake, is featured on the song.  In case you don’t know much about him, he used to star on the show Degrassi: The Next Generation (as Aubrey Drake Graham) and, after being signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label, recently released the video for his single “Best I Ever Had.”

The song is catchy enough, though, and I can’t hate on Mary J. but this really sounds like nothing she’s ever done before.  I know she’s gotta stay fresh but I’m hoping this is the only track on her album that has autotune.
