Strange Masked Man Disrupts Annie Lennox Concert
A man dressed in a gas mask and cape appeared on stage at the Annie Lennox concert in Boulder, Colorado on Tuesday causing her to flee. Annie, who described the man as “freakish and disturbing” dropped her mic and ran backstage without letting on to the crowd. Security removed the 32 year old man from the stage and Annie returned to do the show as if nothing happened. She’s a true professional. I would have been shaken up like wouldn’t believe!
Annie wrote about the incident and pulled no punches, “I ’m usually very patient and easy going with most kinds of behaviour in an audience…But that was really freakish and disturbing, whatever the hell it was. He owes me and my band a f–king apology.”
Rather than do a meet and greet with fans after the show, Annie and her band headed straight for the tour bus. Annie apologized to her fans on her blog: “I send my apologies to anyone who waited. What a drag. If you ask anyone who’s waited for me after any of my shows, they’ll tell you that I usually spend quite some time signing etc… But you know what…Hey… I’m a human being folks… (sic) and I just needed to get out of there because I’d had it. I’m really sorry if you waited for me… normally it would have been completely different.”
Quite understandable. Security has a bit of explaining to do, don’t they? How can a man in a gas mask and cape walk on stage. This is Annie Lennox, not GWAR. Surely he’d of stood out like a sore thumb by anyone close by.
