Strike or Not Beyonce Will Attend Grammys
Beyonce is vowing to cross the picket line and attend the Grammys whether there’s a strike or not. Her father and manager, Matthew Knowles had this to say:
"The work of The Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate. Beyoncé has been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best."
With high-profile Beyonce willing to cross the picket line, can others be far behind? Will there still be a red carpet when so many striking writers will be out front with their signs and voices? It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but I’m getting the vibe that many feel as if the strike has gone on long enough. Indeed it seems as if there’s lots of talking going on behind the scenes, but no one actually sitting down at the negotiating table. If my income and career were on the line, you can bet I’d want to see round the clock negotiations.
