What’s New In Music?
Lil Wayne may have been named King of the Billboard earlier this week, but the ladies are hot on his tail. Katy Perry is topping the Hot 100 for the fourth week in a row, with her hit single “I Kissed a Girl.”
Close on Perry’s heals is Rihanna with “Take a Bow” at No. 2. Leonna Lewis holds down the No. 5 spot with “Bleeding Love”, Natasha Bedingfield’s “Pocket of Sunshine” is in at No. 6 and the Pussycat Dolls are hanging on at No. 12.
Rihanna is keeping the boys on the Billboard 200 on their toes with Good Girl Gone Bad being the only album by a woman making the top 10 at No. 6. Katy Perry and Leona Lewis are holding down the top 20 at No. 12 and 15 respectively.
Feist is using her breakout single “1,2,3,4″ to help the kiddies count on the premier episode of the 39th season of Sesame Street. Check it out:
A spokesperson for pop princess Britney Spears announced that Spears will be spending the rest of the summer working on a new album. Regardless of how desaterous her MTV VMA appearance was last year, I must admit that I enjoyed the singles from Blackout. I hope she gets it together to entertain her fans the way she used to. There is currently no release date new album, but we’ll keep you posted.
